As a User Researcher with ADHD

I need So that…

This post was originally on LinkedIN

I have a few clients who are User Researchers with ADHD and so when I saw this comment on BlueSky I wanted to understand better.

“I’ve ended up a UR. But I’m not sure it is the best for someone with ADHD.”

I asked for clarification.

“A lot of goals that are a long way from the actions one takes.

A lot of having to deal with real, open and implicit as well as perceived rejection.

A whole lot of self organising. Which is fine when the subject is engaging and interesting. Less so when it isn’t.”

I can see that. If it were me, I would also add compiling reports.

As I said though I have clients who are User Researchers and ADHDers so I thought we could crowdsource your top tips as an ADHD UR.

How do you deal with the self organisation, rejection, real or perceived and long form writing requirements? Do you work as part of a team or alone?

Or

Is there anything else which you would say is challenging as a ADHD UR?

Please add your thoughts to the comments or DM me and I will add them anonymously, or I have set up an anonymous survey https://lnkd.in/egPgVAaD

Obviously the image is to get you to look at the post. It worked too. She didn’t go all the way down the steps btw

A view from steps dow onto a small stoney beach with a wall to the left and the sea to the right. A white staffy dog stands on the bottom but one step. She is wearing a blue jumper and is looking towards the sea

Wait, does the nav block sit on the footer for this theme? That’s bold.
